Easy-Laser XT660 is an advanced dot-laser shaft alignment system for accurately aligning a wide range of rotating machinery in demanding industrial environments.
The Easy-Laser XT660 is an advanced laser shaft alignment system designed for the installation and maintenance of rotating machinery. The XT660 utilises highly accurate dot-laser technology that is designed to support the alignment of horizontal, vertical and flange-mounted machines, as well as machine trains. With additional accessories, the system can also be used to align cardan-shaft machinery.
Built for demanding industrial environments, the XT660 guides users through the alignment process using the intuitive Easy-Laser XT Alignment app. It also supports essential machinery checks, including soft foot, bearing play and base twist, helping users establish the correct conditions for reliable alignment. Measurement results can also be documented and shared through automatically generated PDF and Excel reports, providing a clear record of machinery condition before and after alignment.
The XT660 helps maintenance and engineering teams to perform accurate shaft alignment across a wide range of rotating machinery. Its guided workflow, flexible measurement methods and built-in documentation simplify alignment work from initial inspection to final reporting. Explore some of the key benefits of the XT660 system below:
Advanced measurement technology and practical functions work together to support every stage of shaft alignment. Below are the XT660 system’s key features that helps users measure different machinery configurations, identify various conditions that may affect alignment, make accurate adjustments and document the completed work.
High-Precision Dot-Laser Technology
Supports accurate measurements across longer distances, larger machines and challenging alignment conditions.
Versatile Machinery Alignment
Aligns horizontal, vertical and flange-mounted machines, as well as three-machine trains.
Five Measurement Methods
Includes 9–12–3, EasyTurn™, Continuous Sweep, Multi Point and Uncoupled Sweep for different machinery conditions.
Integrated Machinery Checks
Supports soft-foot and bearing-play checks, thermal-growth compensation and tolerance verification.
Base Twist Measurement
Checks the flatness or twist of machine foundations, bases and machine tables using the measuring units.
Rugged Design and Digital Reporting
Features IP66/67-rated measuring units, up to 24 hours of operation and automatically generated PDF and Excel reports.
The XT660 utilises two wireless measuring units mounted on opposite sides of the machine coupling. The dot lasers, PSD detectors and electronic inclinometers measure the relative positions of the shafts, while the XT Alignment app processes the measurements and guides the user through the alignment.
The XT60-M and XT60-S measuring units are secured to the shafts using the supplied brackets and chains. They then connect wirelessly to the XT Alignment app on an Easy-Laser display unit or a compatible iOS or Android device.
The user enters the required distances between the measuring units, coupling and machine feet. These dimensions allow the system to calculate the corrections needed at the movable machine.
The shafts are rotated according to the selected measurement method. The XT660 records the laser readings and calculates the horizontal and vertical offset and angular misalignment between the shafts.
The app displays the machine’s initial “As Found” condition and the required adjustment values. During correction, live values help the user move the machine horizontally and add or remove shims vertically.
After adjustment, the shafts are measured again to confirm whether the alignment is within the selected tolerance. The final “As Left” results can then be saved and documented in automatically generated PDF and Excel reports.
Shaft alignment problems can affect the installation and operation of rotating machinery. The XT660 system helps users identify and correct these problems while providing measurement programs for checking supporting conditions that may prevent an accurate and stable alignment. The following are the main problems it can help address:
Shaft misalignment in rotating machinery
Vibration and mechanical stress caused by misalignment
Premature bearing, seal and coupling wear
Soft foot and uneven machine support
Base twist and uneven machine foundations
Shaft radial play caused by bearing play
Alignment changes caused by thermal growth
Difficult three-machine train and cardan shaft alignment
Inconsistent and poorly documented alignment work
The XT660 is suitable for aligning a wide range of coupled rotating machinery as listed below during installation, maintenance and overhaul. Compatibility will depend on the machine configuration, shaft dimensions and mounting access, while some specialised applications require additional brackets.
Electric Motors
Pumps
Compressors
Fans and Blowers
Gearboxes
Generators
Turbines and Turbine-Driven Machinery
Wind-Turbine Drivetrain Equipment
Vertical and Flange-Mounted Rotating Machines
Three-Machine Trains with Two Couplings
Machinery Fitted with Sliding Bearings
