Product Overview

Easy-Laser XT660 shaft alignment system with XT12 display unit and accessories in a protective carrying case.

The Easy-Laser XT660 is an advanced laser shaft alignment system designed for the installation and maintenance of rotating machinery. The XT660 utilises highly accurate dot-laser technology that is designed to support the alignment of horizontal, vertical and flange-mounted machines, as well as machine trains. With additional accessories, the system can also be used to align cardan-shaft machinery.

Built for demanding industrial environments, the XT660 guides users through the alignment process using the intuitive Easy-Laser XT Alignment app. It also supports essential machinery checks, including soft foot, bearing play and base twist, helping users establish the correct conditions for reliable alignment. Measurement results can also be documented and shared through automatically generated PDF and Excel reports, providing a clear record of machinery condition before and after alignment.

Key Benefits

The XT660 helps maintenance and engineering teams to perform accurate shaft alignment across a wide range of rotating machinery. Its guided workflow, flexible measurement methods and built-in documentation simplify alignment work from initial inspection to final reporting. Explore some of the key benefits of the XT660 system below:

  1. Achieve Accurate and Reliable Alignment: The XT660 dot-laser technology delivers high measurement accuracy across longer distances and larger machinery, helping users make precise corrections with confidence.
  2. Complete Alignment Work More Efficiently: The intuitive XT Alignment app guides users through each stage of the process, while multiple measurement methods allow them to select the most practical approach for the machine and working conditions.
  3. Handle More Alignment Applications with One System: The XT660 supports horizontal, vertical and flange-mounted machines, as well as three-machine trains. With additional accessories, it can also align cardan-shaft machinery.
  4. Identify Problems Before Making Adjustments: Built-in checks for soft foot, bearing play and base twist help users identify conditions that could affect alignment accuracy or machinery stability before completing the job.
  5. Work Reliably in Demanding Environments: The rugged IP66/67-rated measuring units are protected against dust and water, making the system suitable for challenging industrial and outdoor conditions.
  6. Finish Long Jobs Without Frequent Recharging: The measuring units provide up to 24 hours of continuous operation, allowing users to complete extended alignment assignments with fewer interruptions.
  7. Use the Display Device That Suits the Job: The XT Alignment app works with the Easy-Laser XT display unit and compatible iOS or Android devices, giving teams greater flexibility without requiring separate software licences.
  8. Create Clear and Traceable Alignment Records: The system automatically generates PDF and Excel reports containing measurement results. Users can also add notes, photographs and signatures, making it easier to document, share and verify machinery condition before and after alignment.

How It Works?

Technician using the Easy-Laser laser shaft alignment system to align an industrial motor and pump

The XT660 utilises two wireless measuring units mounted on opposite sides of the machine coupling. The dot lasers, PSD detectors and electronic inclinometers measure the relative positions of the shafts, while the XT Alignment app processes the measurements and guides the user through the alignment.

  1. Step 01

Mount and Connect the Measuring Units

The XT60-M and XT60-S measuring units are secured to the shafts using the supplied brackets and chains. They then connect wirelessly to the XT Alignment app on an Easy-Laser display unit or a compatible iOS or Android device.

  2. Step 02

    Enter the Machine Dimensions

The user enters the required distances between the measuring units, coupling and machine feet. These dimensions allow the system to calculate the corrections needed at the movable machine.

  3. Step 03

    Measure the Shaft Positions

The shafts are rotated according to the selected measurement method. The XT660 records the laser readings and calculates the horizontal and vertical offset and angular misalignment between the shafts.

  4. Step 04

    Review and Correct the Alignment

The app displays the machine’s initial “As Found” condition and the required adjustment values. During correction, live values help the user move the machine horizontally and add or remove shims vertically.

  5. Step 05

    Verify and Document the Result

After adjustment, the shafts are measured again to confirm whether the alignment is within the selected tolerance. The final “As Left” results can then be saved and documented in automatically generated PDF and Excel reports.

Problems It Can Help Solve

Shaft alignment problems can affect the installation and operation of rotating machinery. The XT660 system helps users identify and correct these problems while providing measurement programs for checking supporting conditions that may prevent an accurate and stable alignment. The following are the main problems it can help address:

  1. Alignment Issue

    Shaft misalignment in rotating machinery

  2. Machine Condition

Vibration and mechanical stress caused by misalignment

  3. Component Wear

Premature bearing, seal and coupling wear

  4. Machine Support

Soft foot and uneven machine support

  5. Foundation Condition

Base twist and uneven machine foundations

  6. Mechanical Stability

Shaft radial play caused by bearing play

  7. Operating Conditions

Alignment changes caused by thermal growth

  8. Complex Alignment
