Easy-Laser XT190 Laser Belt Alignment System

Easy-Laser XT190 Laser Belt Alignment System

Align belt drives confidently using the Easy-Laser XT190 Laser Belt Alignment System. The system features live digital measurements and calculated corrections that help maintenance teams achieve alignment within prescribed tolerances, with documented results.

Product Overview

Easy-Laser XT190 digital detector mounted on an industrial pulley for laser belt alignment

The Easy-Laser XT190 Laser Belt Alignment System is a portable digital measurement tool designed to assess the alignment of sheaves and pulleys in belt-driven machinery. It supports maintenance teams during new equipment installation, routine servicing, and corrective work involving the position of the motor or driven machine.

In a belt transmission, the driving and driven pulleys must have the appropriate positional and angular relationship. This relationship can change when equipment is installed, mounting positions are adjusted, or components are removed and refitted. The XT190 system provides a numerical assessment of pulley alignment, giving users a defined basis for checking the drive’s condition during these activities.

As a dedicated pulley alignment tool, the XT190 fits into the mechanical setup and maintenance process before machinery is returned to service. It is relevant to both initial alignment checks and subsequent checks following work that may have disrupted the existing machine arrangement.

Key Benefits

The XT190 laser belt alignment tool helps maintenance teams complete alignment work efficiently, verify the result, and maintain a clear record of the task. Explore the key benefits of the system below.

  1. Efficient use of maintenance resources: Alignment can be performed by one user, helping reduce the time and manpower required compared with traditional methods.
  2. Confidence in the completed alignment: Numerical results allow users to assess the final alignment against prescribed tolerances.
  3. Clear maintenance records: Saved results support work handovers and provide evidence of the alignment condition achieved.

Key Features

Easy-Laser XT190 belt alignment laser transmitter and digital detector with integrated measurement display

The system combines a laser transmitter and digital detector with a choice of display and mounting options to accommodate different measurement setups. Key features includes integrated readout, wireless connectivity, compatibility with external display devices, and digital reporting through the supported alignment software.

  • Integrated OLED display

The detector displays offset in millimetres or inches, together with horizontal and vertical angular values.

  • Wireless connectivity

Bluetooth communication enables use with compatible external display devices.

  • Multiple readout options

View measurements on the detector, in the free XT Alignment app on compatible iOS or Android devices, or on a compatible Easy-Laser display unit. Included targets provide a visual alternative.

  • Flexible attachment

Magnetic reference surfaces secure the units to magnetic sheaves. Double-sided adhesive tape or clamps can be used on non-magnetic sheaves.

  • Digital reporting

The supported app/display workflow generates PDF and Excel reports. A separate Easy-Laser display unit is not included in the standard kit.

  • Two measurement-distance modes

    Low-power mode covers 40 mm to 3 m; high-power mode covers 0.5 m to 10 m.

How It Works?

Technician checking industrial belt alignment with the Easy-Laser XT190 system and a handheld display unit

The alignment process begins by establishing a laser reference plane parallel to one pulley and measuring the position of the other pulley against it. XT190 detects and identifies offset and angular differences, allowing the user to follow how the alignment changes as the adjustable machine is repositioned. Utilising the supported alignment program, the user can also obtain horizontal adjustment and vertical shim values to guide the correction process. The steps below outline the typical sequence from initial setup to final verification.

  1. Step 01

    Position the measuring units

With the machinery stopped and safely isolated, place the transmitter on the reference pulley and the detector on the pulley associated with the adjustable machine.

  2. Step 02

    Establish the reference plane

The transmitter projects a laser plane parallel to its pulley reference surface.

  3. Step 03

    Measure the relative position

The detector reads its position against this plane to determine offset and angular misalignment.

  4. Step 04

    Calculate the required corrections

With the necessary machine dimensions entered in the supported alignment program, the system calculates horizontal adjustments and vertical shim values.

  5. Step 05

    Adjust and recheck

Reposition and shim the adjustable machine while following the changing readings, then confirm the alignment after securing the machine.

Problems It Can Help Solve

Pulley misalignment can contribute to component deterioration and unwanted operating behaviour. By correcting it with the XT190 system, it can help address the following conditions when misalignment is a contributing cause.

  1. Belt and Pulley Wear

    Premature belt and pulley wear

  2. Bearing and Seal Wear

    Misalignment-related bearing and seal wear

  3. Noise and Vibration

    Excessive noise and vibration

Compatible Machinery and Equipment

Compatibility of the XT190 will depend on the drive configuration, pulley dimensions, and available mounting access. The following are the typical belt-driven equipment the system is applicable to.

  • Fans and blowers

  • HVAC equipment

  • Pumps and compressors

  • Conveyors

  • Production machinery

Applicable Industries

The XT190 system can support maintenance across these sectors that operate suitable belt-driven machinery. Its relevance, however, is determined by the type of equipment installed at each site.

  • Building Services and Facilities

  • Manufacturing

  • Water and Wastewater

  • Marine

  • Energy and Utilities

  • Food and Beverage
