In-situ balancing and laser geometrical alignment are key maintenance practices for rotating machinery.

Balancing is the process of adjusting the mass distribution of a rotating body so that it rotates without unbalanced centrifugal forces, reducing vibration, minimizing premature wear, increasing lifespan and improving performance. This is especially vital in heavy machinery, turbines, electric motors, disc drives, and other rotational equipment where an imbalance can lead to operational issues, excessive noise, and unexpected catastrophic failures.

Laser Shaft Alignment, on the other hand, is a method to align two or more shafts with each other to within a tolerated margin. Misaligned shafts can lead to issues such as high levels of vibration, bearing heat, and even premature bearing, seal, or coupling failure. The laser shaft alignment process uses a laser device to measure and correct alignment to ensure the precise positioning of connected components, thus maximizing operational efficiency and prolonging the service life of the machinery.

Both techniques are critical for optimizing machine performance, prolonging lifespan, and preventing costly breakdowns and downtime.
